Sterett Crane & Rigging’s Louisville, KY branch had a job in a local mine recently. We used our 120 Ton Hydraulic Truck Crane, the Terex AC100-4L. Using this crane was ideal for the space and the multiple picks we did to help complete maintenance on the conveyer. The heaviest of these picks were almost 20k lbs. and required us to use almost 50k lbs. of counterweight. Operating cranes in a mine is something we are very familiar with and it takes a high attention to detail and safety along with the proper training. The operators all must be MSHA Underground Mine certified and be extremely aware of their surroundings. We acknowledge the skill set and experience it takes to operate in abnormal environments and we appreciate the team we have. The job was flawless and it was another successful crane rental.
