Sterett Crane & Rigging provided our fully integrated services to transport two 100-ton Caissons, 8’ in diameter x 122’ long, from a fabrication shop in Calvert City, Kentucky. We used our 250-ton Gantries to lift the caissons inside of the shop onto our Sterett Heavy Haul trailers to be transported to the barge loadout facility. The trailer configuration was a 4-axle tractor combined with a 4-axle XL trailer, as well as a 6-axle steerable dolly.
Sterett Crane received the units at the loadout facility and offloaded them from our trailers onto the barge using (2) Liebherr LTM1220’s ( 275 Ton Mobile Cranes ). Our Sterett Crane crew securely loaded the caissons in to the hopper barge. Both Caissons were then transported by barge to a new dam project in the Midwest.
